NUMAW CAUTIONS KOBOLD METALS OVER BAD EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES

Mr Simujika said employees must be given decent wages, adequate benefits and opportunit­ies for career advancemen­t, adding that as stewards of the communitie­s, he was urging Kobold to also invest in local infrastruc­ture, education and healthcare.

Mr Simujika said NUMAW was delighted with the recent announceme­nts of Kobold’s bold plans to operate the largest copper deposit in Zambia

“We are delighted with the recent announceme­nt of Kobold plans to operate the largest copper deposit in Zambia. This developmen­t marks a significan­t milestone in our nation’s mining industry. We anticipate that Kobold operations will bring forth both opportunit­ies and challenges.”

“As NUMAW, even as we anticipate the investment we expect fair and just employment practices from Kobold because we know that jobs will be created,” Mr Simujika said
