Speaking during a meeting with his headmen and subjects at his palace, Chief Ishima said since the implementation of the policy, it has positively impacted rural development, particularly within chiefdoms.

The traditional leader added that the policy has empowered rural communities to make independent decisions regarding their development.

The Chief also thanked President Hakainde Hichilema for the increased Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Chief Ishima narrated that apart from making independent decisions, the CDF increase will further support the development of rural communities and improve their living standards.

He further urged community members to collaborate in addressing their collective needs and called on civic leaders to work together to advance developmental programmes.

Chief Ishima, however, also expressed concern over lack of development in his chiefdom, despite the increased CDF.

He identified challenges such as poor road network, lack of electricity and inadequate water supply, as obstacles hindering the chiefdom’s progress.

The traditional leader emphasised the importance of electricity and good road networks for national development, underscoring the need for increased attention to these critical infrastructure needs.

Chief Ishima further urged the headmen to continue spreading developmental programmes to their various communities.

And speaking on behalf of other headmen, headman Yambehzi, pledged to collaborate with government and affirmed their commitment to serve as a vital link between the community and the Chiefdom in order to facilitate development.

Headman Yambahzi further emphasised their collective effort in working with communities to ensure the effective implementation of government policies aimed at achieving their objectives.
