THE Emerald Production Watch of Zambia (EPWOZ) has dissolved its executive committee after investigations revealed that some executive members are being used by politicians and mining companies to dent the image of the organisation,’’ EPWOZ president Musa Kafimbwa has said

Mr Kafimbwa said the EPWOZ Executive Committee has been dissolved and will appoint an interim executive which will lead the outspoken, but mature, objective and patriotic organisation to the next Annual General

Mr Kafimbwa said EPWOZ shall never be used as a political platform for any political party and shall never join conflict or battles that may have been started by an individual member of the organisation

“I can confirm that EPWOZ has dissolved its executive committee and will soon appoint an interim executive to lead the organisation to the AGM. The dissolution has been necessitated after information came to the attention of the organisation that some executive members where being used by political and mining companies to dent the image of the organisation

‘As EPWOZ, we shall never be used on political platform and we shall never get into conflict that may have begun with personal capacity. Will help the government to perform even better. We will announce the new interim executive committee that will lead the organisation to the AGM,’’ Mr Kafimbwa said

Mr Kafimbwa has also emphasised that he was worried at the pace at which the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Development officials was moving regarding the Extractive Industry and that President Hakainde Hichilema should quickly make serious pronouncement regarding the future of the extractive industry in the country
