UKA WILL UNITE ZAMBIA

- By NATION REPORTER

…Edith Nawakwi, Sakwiba Sikota SC, member of the United Kwacha Alliance say Zambia needs a leader that would unite the country that is now tribally, ethnically and tribally polarised

ZAMBIANS including every household in the country have realised that voting for UPND into government was the worst mistake and experiment ever made and that citizens are in desperate need of a leader that would unite the country, the United Kwacha Alliance (UKA) has said.

Edith Nawakwi and Sakwiba Sikota SC have said there are desperate calls and cries across the country that citizens should be rescued from the claws of dictatorship under which opposition political party leaders were being arrested and detained as if the country was under a state of emergency.

Featuring on Radio Christian Voice Talk of the City programme, Ms Nawakwi along with Mr Sikota said the UPND under President Hichilema had sown seeds of division, tribalism, regionalism and ethnicity, the vices that had left the country deeply divided.

“Every household knows that President Hichilema is the worst mistake the country has ever made and to say he has failed is an under-statement. We need to rescue the country from the claws of dictatorship. We want every Zambian and every voter to know that Kwacha. We do not want to get Zambia into conflict but we have to give citizens a new hope,” Ms Nawakwi said.

And Mr Sikota said the UPND had failed all the assessment tests in all aspects including governance and that Zambians were demanding that in fact the ruling party should not even participate in the 2026 general elections.

Mr Sikota, the leader of the United Liberal Party (ULP) said it was clear that even the UPND had realised that it had failed and that was why the governing party was scheming to elongate the presidential term to seven years.
