CHABINGA DESCRIBES HH AS A VISIONARY LEADER

-

ROBERT Chabinga, the suspended Mafinga Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament has eulogied and praised President Hakainde Hichilema as a visionary leader who has worked hard to widen the democratic space in Zambia.

And Mr Chabinga yesterday went virulent and nihilistically attacked Zambia’s Sixth President Edgar Lungu describiing him as a power-hungry man who would want to return to the presidency for his own interests.

Meanwhile Mr Chibinga has threatened that he will soon move to liquidate media houses that would continue to refer to Mr Brian Mundubile and Mr Raphael Nakacinda as Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and PF secretary general respectively. Mr Chabinga, the purported Leader of the Opposition in Parliament at a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday praised President Hakainde Hichilema for what he termed the restoration of democracy, which according to him was lost under former President Lungu.

Mr Chabinga also declared that there was no other Leader of the Opposition in Parliament apart from himself and that media houses that would report otherwise would be taught a lesson he did not specify.

“We have never taken anyone to court but our colleagues have done so. But let me warn media houses…I am not threatening but we are going to teach some media houses a lesson. I am the Leader of Opposition in Parliament and my brother Mr Mundubile is an ordinary MP for Mporokoso.

The records at the Registrar of Societies show that Miles Sampa is the president of PF, Mr Morgan Ng’ona is the secretary general and I, Robert Chabinga is the Leader of Opposition in Parliament,” Mr Chabinga said.

“The media houses that will continue to refer to Mr Mundubile and Mr Raphael Nakacinda as Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and secretary general respectively…we shall follow you and liquidate such media houses,” he said.
