NALUMANGO A LIABILITY TO HH, SAYS LUBINDA

- By NATION REPORTER

THE behaviour of Mutale Nalumango on national issues is now justifying Hakainde Hichilema’s decision to ignore her in the governance of this country, PF vice president Given Lubinda has said.

In an interview, Mr Lubinda said Vice President Nalumango was a liability to President Hichilema and she would do justice to him if she resigned.

Mr Lubinda said it was shocking that the Vice President could use the National Assembly to attack former President Edgar Lungu on a matter which had been settled.

The Vice President while on the floor of the house yesterday, said it was irresponsible for any leader to condemn the free education policy which had brought many children into school.

Ms Nalumango said leaders who want to deprive the citizens of such progressive policies such as free education should not be trusted.

She said government had resorted to invest resources into the implementation of the free education policy because it understood the importance of schooling in enhancing development in the country.

But Mr Lubinda said Mr Hichilema was doing the right thing not to consider or consult her in the governance of this country because her behaviour called to show that she does not have anything to contribute to governance of this country unless to be personal or petty.

Mr Lubinda said Mr Lungu clarified on the issue and it had been put to bed, therefore, such matters cannot be discussed any more.

“Each time she speaks, she gives us a reasons to think that Hakainde Hichilema is doing a right thing not to consider her, not to consult her not to engage her in the governance of this country because the statements call to show that she doesn’t have anything to contribute to the governance of this country unless to be personal or petty.

An example is today (yesterday)when she decided to go on former President Lungu, a matter President Lungu and many others have clarified that he was misquoted and she decides to use the National Assembly to trivialise and demean President Lungu over the matter that should have been closed.

Because she has nothing else to say, she has nothing to contribute therefore she touches on a horse that is already dead because she can’t go for a live horse. My advice to her is that the constitution allows her to resign, if she realises that she has come to the end of the road to allow Hichilema to appoint a person who would be helpful to him on governance because it is proven now beyond any reasonable doubt the reason she is sidelined is because of her conduct like that we saw in Parliament,” he said.
