ECL CAUSING UPND SLEEPLESS NIGHTS, SAYS MOOLA

…says former President Lungu’s popularity is soaring by the day, explains that the more propaganda against the former head of State, the more Zambians want him back

- By ROGERS KALERO

THE UPND government must find a better way of making itself relevant to Zambians than resorting to cheap political propaganda against former republican President Edgar Lungu who has become more popular for having cared for the poorest, Munalula Moola has said.

Mr Moola, the Patriotic Front (PF) Copperbelt spokesperson, said no amount of propaganda against the PFand Dr Lungu shall make Zambians to change the bad perception they have about the UPND because they are experiencing the worst forms of poverty and hunger levels under President Hakainde Hichilema.

In an interview, Mr Moola said the UPND should concentrate on delivering its campaign promises which included reducing mealie meal to K50, upholding the rule of law and turning away from the dictatorial tendencies as opposed to intimidating political rivals and dividing the nation

“I will tell you this, without fear or favour, the UPND is finished and is only existing on blogs or media groups where one or two people are making noise with the hope of being rewarded one day. I doubt if that reward will come because UPND is a hunger and poverty stricken ruling party. Even those who were singing praises from the beginning are giving up,” Mr Moola said.

Mr Moola said the UPND and its leadership was damn scared of the PF and had continued to expose its insecurity through stopping the former ruling party from contesting the by elections which the ruling party was inducing despite knowing its declining popularity.

“The actions of the UPND are not only exposing its insecurity, but also showing that the ruling party is in a panic mode after realizing that it has no capacity to fulfill its campaign promises. The UPND should explain why most of the promises which President Hichilema made during 2021 elections campaign and after have failed to materialize,” he said

Mr Moola said spewing malice and propaganda against former President Lungu was not helping the UPND in any way, but was only serving to annoying Zambians who were not happy with President Hichilema who the feel had not only plunged the country into hunger and poverty but was also allegedly turning into a dictator.

“The new dawn administration has lost the support of the people because it has lamentably failed to provide leadership. This is why they are exhibiting dictatorial tendencies. This is how people who are under Pressure behave,” Mr Moola said.

Mr Moola said the UPND and its cadres should channel his efforts to explain why the promise by President Hichilema to put up a concrete road on Chibuluma road had failed to materialize.

“The humble advice to UPND is to spend time and channel All that Energy being used to insult ECL to explain to the Zambian people what his Government has achieved though I know that won’t take him 2 hours as there is very little to explain. Then let him explain when the 14hours will be for the kwacha to come down to K5 as promised and when mealie meal will be K50 as promised,” Mr Moola said.
