Looking into the future with hope

- Five-year-plan

WHEN shall Zambians unify the national thinking in line with the five-year-plan programme of the ruling party to tackle varied national challenges together?

The Chinese hold a strong view that, “national unity is meaningless if it doesn’t unite the aspirations of the people.”

The Zambians need a solid unified national thinking to overcome their own challenges and turn around the economy.

But, the possibility of a unified national thinking is overly politicised!

Politically, culturally or otherwise; Zambia’s DNA has the aspirations, ideology, values and principles on which the governments of UNIP, MMD, PF and UPND were founded.

This 2024 with Zambia clocking 60 years; we should be boasting of that unique strength!

How many of us know the five-year-plan programme for economic and social development in our respective political party?

I ask, because, the next election is looking at 2026 2031!

The programme of your political party should influence your decision making at individual and household level?

While some citizens don’t accept failure when it comes to Government reforms, they often tend to resist the reforms for one reason or the other.

On October 1, 1949, the Chinese emerged from the 2nd World War to establish a new China, but at that point more toil lay ahead.

The China we see today beat her own path by learning from Japan, following the experience of Germany and early struggles of the United States of America.

And to some respect, China modleled herself after the Soviet Union.

I believe Zambia is in a special place to rejuvenate the nation for greatness!

But, can Zambia develop in the absence of a solid unified national thinking?

Have your say, now.

Zambia turns 60 years on 24 October 2024, and that’s how old the Zambia-China friendship is.
