SAMPA IS UPND-SPONSORED - LAURA MITI

- By NATION REPORTER

IT is difficult to believe that UPND had no hand in the confusion that arose in the Patriotic Front (PF) because it is practically impossible for Mile Sampa to organise a coup against his own party without the support of the State, Laura Miti has said.

Ms. Miti, who is a human rights activist said she is of a strong belief that the UPND were using incumbency machinations to get rid of their greatest threat who were the PF through Mr Sampa, who stands expelled from the former ruling party. “We all know ba Miles. Where did he get everything, get organised and pull up a fast one against his party. There must have been something bigger behind him,” Ms Miti said.

She also said UPND and PF were like first cousins because there was not much difference between two political parties save for the distinction between the two leaders of the political parties.

Ms. Miti said she did not not think UPND as a party was any better than PF because if left alone, they would do more damage than the former ruling party especially in the area of caderism and hooliganism.

She stated that the UPND spent 20 years planning on how they would do things when in power, with the desire to get rich quickly, build houses the way the PF used to but it was only President Hakainde Hichilema who was restraining them.

Meanwhile, Ms. Miti said she does not have any hatred for former President Edgar Lungu except that she had never liked his style of leadership.

She claimed that a lot of atrocities were committed in Mr Lungu’s name without his knowledge because according to her, the former President had lost control and power over PF cadres.

Ms. Miti said former President Lungu was like an uncle to her who she could never hate because he was just naturally good except that under his rein, people in the PF had more power than himself.
