I HAVE NO PLANS OF DEFECTING TO UPND - CHAMA

- By PRISCA LUMINGU

DAVIS Chama says he is not a desperate politician to be jumping from one political party to another and has dispelled speculations that he has described speculations that he is on his way to joining the governing UPND as nothing but malicious.

Mr Chama, the suspended Patriotic Front (PF) national chairman has however said that should the political dynamics change, he would personally announce his decision on his political path because he has never been a coward

But sources have disclosed that Mr. Chama, who is also former Defence Minister is next week expected to ditch the PF for the governing UPND.

Mr. Chama however told

Millennium Radio in an interview that should the political dynamics change, he was going to personally announce his decision on his political path because he has never been a coward.

“It is not true that I am about to defect to the UPND and I do not know why people speculate about things that do not exist. When I decide to make a political move, I will announce it myself.

I know rumours are being spread about me. Some people have been calling me, scandalising me and even attempting to extort money. I am a PF member and I have been interacting with fellow members such as Brian Mundubile, Stephen Kampyongo who have come to see me. So, I am not going anywhere,” Mr Chama said.

He said he does not need anyone to announce his next political move on his behalf because he had always been a man of his own who did not depend on the courage of other people to make personal political decisions.

“I have never had such intentions, but if there will be any future developments in terms of political dynamics, I’m a courageous person who should be able to announce whatever move I intend to make,” he said.

He emphasised that he did not believe in engaging in underground political schemes to gain political mileage he wants to get as he has done his part when it comes to politics.

“So I’m not desperate to start jumping from one political party to another party, I don’t think I have interest in doing such a thing,” Mr Chama said.

Mr. Chama said he does not know why people want to speculate for things which are not there. He said was aware of the rumours that have been spreading around in an effort to scandalise him.

Mr. Chama said he does not believe in having imaginary enemies and hating people for no reason as he was a free man to interact with anyone.
