MALOLE RESIDENTS HUNT ANGERED BY SCHEMES TO DETHRONE KALIMI

- By NATION REPORTER

…Emmanuel Mwamba says those who signed petition to remove Mr Malimi as Malole MP are now being hunted, advises the lawmaker should be given an opportunity to attend Parliament virtually

RESIDENTS of Malole Constituency have risen against a group of people who have petitioned Speaker of the National Assembly Nelly Mutti to declare the Malole seat vacant when the substantive Member of Parliament is still alive and capable of performing his legislative duties, Emmanuel Mwamba has said

And Mr Mwamba says Parliament should consider providing Mr Robert Kalimi, the Malole legislator with a computer and internet so that he could virtually start attending parliamentary proceedings and contribute to debate.

Mr Mwamba, the Patriotic Front (PF) information and publicity chairman has revealed that residents of Malole are up in arms against a group of strange people with evil schemes of removing Mr Kalimi from Parliament on account that he had been involved in a road traffic accident and had been hospitalised in South Africa for about six months.

He said reports from the PF leadership in Malole were to the effect that the residents were angry that some people could be so evil and heartless to the extent that they could embark on a malicious campaign to induce a by-election in Malole with the hope to surrendering the seat to the governing party, the UPND.

“That petition to the Speaker to declare the Malole seat vacant and induce a by-election by some strange group of human beings has really angered the people of Malole.

Those people who have petitioned the Speaker to declare the Malole seat vacant when the sustentative MP is alive and capable of performing his legislative duties are being hunted right now,” Mr Mwamba said.

“That petition is extremely malicious, unAfrican, unZambian and against the Bemba tradition. The group is now being hunted because the people are annoyed that people could be scheming to replace an MP who is still alive and ready to start work, he said.

And Mr Mwamba has said Mr Kalimi, who was discharged from a South African hospital after a terrible accident is in full control of his faculties and ready to begin his legislative work.

He said it would be evil, wickedness and heartless for Speaker Mutti to declare the Malole seat vacant when Mt Kalimi was ready to resume his Parliamentary duties.

Mr Mwamba said Mr Kalimi was ready to attend parliamentary proceeding virtually and contribute to debate in the house should Parliament facilitate such an undertaking.

“Following our visit to Mr Kalimi, we think that the petition to Speaker Mutti declare the Malole seat is extremely malicious. Mr Kalimi is recovering well and is in-charge of his full faculties.

What Parliament should do is ensure that they give him a computer, internet so that Mr Kailimi can work virtually from home. Any action to attempt to remove Mr Kalimi from Parliament is evil and devilish,” Mr Mwamba said.
