UPND FERRIES OVER 2000 YOUTHS TO CHIPATA

- By ROGERS KALERO

THE ruling UPND has allegedly ferried more than 2,000 cadres from Southern Province to attend the Youth Day celebrations in Chipata which will be graced by President Hakainde Hichilema.

And Patriotic Front (PF) Copperbelt Spokesperson Munalula Moola said alleged that this has been done for fear of being outnumbered by the PF youths.

Mr Moola said the decision is a desperate attempt by the ruling party to create an impression that it is still popular in Eastern Province.

In an interview, Mr Moola said ferrying cadres from one place to the other is not only ridiculous but also an old way of doing politics and a waste of time and resources.

He said the UPND must accept the fact that it has lost popularity because of its failed leadership.

"We have information from credible sources within the UPND themselves that they are ferrying cadres from Southern Province to Eastern Province which is the venue where President Hichilema will grace the Youth Day.

"What UPND is doing is self-deception and it won't help them. One thing about self-deception is that you always know that you are cheating yourself more than those you are planning to cheat.

"The problem with the UPND leadership is arrogance and know it all attitude. They seem to know everything in life and are not willing to learn. If the UPND leadership was willing to learn , they would have learnt from the many disappointments they have suffered this far and avoid deception. Not long ago, their Minister of Agriculture said Zambia has enough food, but nine days later the Republican President addressed the nation on the hunger crisis. We are now buying our maize which we sold to Tanzania and Uganda, “he said.
