HAVE EMPATHY, DON’T BE USED TO FIGHT POLITICAL BATTLES

-

IWRITE to express my deepest sadness with the recent trending video where some women who are “rumoured” to be Malole residents are seen at an “Unknown Office” expressing their displeasure with the absence of their member of Parliament for Malole Mr Robert Kalimi who was involved in a road traffic accident last year.

I wish to convey my deepest sadness as to this regard that humans living in a “Christian” nation can stoop so low as to be unremorseful to a fellow human who is nursing serious wounds sustained through an accident they were involved in.

My plea is that the people of Malole should rally behind their MP and offer him the maximum support he needs so as to quicken his recovery, not worsen it.

What actually makes the matter worse is that women who are supposed to be the mothers of the nation and by nature, the most remorseful could turn out to stoop so low as to blame their MP’s absense on an accident he did not intend to be involved in.

In the video, the women who were represented by their leader said “we have glanced on the television and saw our MP board a plane to seek for medical attention.

Therefore, we plead with you Madam Speaker (Nelly Muti) to kindly help us with replacing our ill MP with someone that is fit.”

Such remarks as far as I am concerned are hurtful to both the MP and his family who have been by his side.

My plea is that women should avoid being used for political agendas as this is a clear political smear campaign.

I therefore urge the women of Malole to tender an apology on the derogatory remarks made to ask for their MP to be replaced all because he is sick and is unwell to carry out governement business.

Women should desist from being used especially by politicians who have no vision for them.
