NATSAVE has outilned a range of tailored financial products designed specifically for farmers, as it scoops the Agricultural Financial Services Provider of the Year award.

Crop loans, covering essential agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertiliser, and pesticides were listed as being among the tailored financial products specifically designed for farmers.

NATSAVE Director Corporate Banking, Sarah Kamoto, noted the firms’ engagement with the farming community while working with the Ministry of Agriculture.

“…particularly under the Zambia Emergency Food Programme, the Sustainable Agriculture Financing Facility (Credit window), the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) here we have paid out K513 million and

collected over K51 million under the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) in the 2023/2024 farming season,” Ms Kamoto said.

She said NATSAVE had also extended Asset Plus financing while facilitating the acquisition of critical farming equipment such as tractors and irrigation systems, thereby supporting the ongoing mechanisation of farming practices.

Ms Kamoto also pointed out that NATSAVE had disbursed K202 million to beneficiaries across the country in 2023 under the Constituency Development Fund beneficiary loans (CDF).

On the award during the Farmers ‘choice Awards Southern Africa in Lusaka over the weekend, Ms Kamoto stated that it underscored the significant impact NATSAVE has had on the farming community.

The award recognised NATSAVE’s commitment to serving the agriculture sector in Zambia.
