Pray for politicians, Kalaba urges church
THE Church in Zambia should never tire in praying for politicians in the face of the myriad challenges such as high cost of living, drought, poverty, hunger and the respect for the rule of law for good governance to reign, Harry Kalaba has said.
Mr Kalaba, the president of Citizens’ First and a member of the United Kwacha Alliance (UKA) was yesterday in Ndola where he attended a church service at the St Paul’s United Church of Zambia (UCZ).
He said politicians should be prayed for so that they could continue practicing politics of love, harmony, peace and devoid of hatred, malice and slander.
Mr Kalaba said it was important for the Church to put politicians in their prayers all the time so that those in power and those in the opposition should see the reason to be united for only then would peace and harmony prevail in the country.
He underscored the importance of the church praying for politicians, saying that it is a sure way of enhancing unity and peace among political players.
Mr Kalaba said unity of purpose among politicians could foster the much-desired development in the country for in the absence of peace, there would be no economic growth for the country.
And Mr Kalaba has pledged to support one of the projects going on at the congregation.
Meanwhile, Minister in charge Reverend Josphat Sinkala assured that the church stood ready to pray for politicians all the time for their unity.
Rev Sakala urged politicians to always look up to God when they were faced with challenges of how best to govern the country.
