HH’S SPEECH ON NATIONAL VALUES, NOT INSPIRING – MUSENGE

- By ROGERS KALERO

ADVOCATE for People’s Prosperity (APP) President Mwenya Musenge has said President Hakainde Hichilema’s address to parliament on national values and principles was not giving hope to Zambians because it was more rhetoric and lacked objectivity

Mr Musenge has also said the address by President Hichilema was also boring and repetitive as most of the things he had talked about during the address, were the same things he talked about during the last address

In an interview, Mr Musenge said President Hichilema and his UPND government should get organised and find home grown solutions to the various economic challenges the country was facing instead of concentrating on theoretical analysis which were for scholars.

“That address by President Hichilema was more theoretical and lacked objectivity. You see, what we need as a country is to focus on home grown solutions.”

“Once we shift from this quagmire and focus on home grown solutions, then we will be on the right direction in terms of addressing our economic challenges, otherwise the address by the President was not giving hope to Zambians,’” Mr Musenge said

Mr Musenge said President Hichilema and the UPND government should strive to find something practical and real to bring hope to Zambians, who had been treated to the lies, deceit and cheap political rhetoric.

He said Zambians shall find it difficult to trust and believe in the new dawn administration because it had been more rhetorical than action-oriented.

“President Hichilema should be action-oriented so that Zambians can see his works or else his popularity will continue to plummet especially with the high cost of living and sky-rocketing prices of essential commodities,” Mr Musenge said.

“If President Hichilema was not theoretical, he should have set the stage for poverty alleviation and food security from the time he became republican President.

He should have shown Zambians that his desire was to take Zambia to greater heights by being action oriented in alleviating poverty and promoting food security, but his actions have completely shown that his government is taking citizens for granted government,” Mr Musenge said.
