Mambilima MP takes on HH

-

Dear Editor,

THE Patriowtic Front (PF) Mambilima Member of Parliament Ms Jean Chisenga last Friday at Parliament confronted and called President Hakainde Hichilema a liar.

The Mambilima lawmaker shouted in Bemba, "Bakateka ubufi, mulibabufi, ubufi bwachilamo." This means "lies, you lie too much, too much of lies. "

Ms Chisenga confronted President Hichilema after the latter finished addressing Parliament. In all honesty, there is nothing sinister about her calling President Hichilema a liar.

She told President Hichilema to stop telling lies. Ms Chisenga's confrontation is in view of the numerous promises President Hichilema made but have not been actualised.

Let me hasten to mention here that President Hichilema promised to uphold the rule of law, bring down the cost of living particularly the price of mealie meal to K50.00 for a 25kg bag of breakfast, reduce the price of fertliser to K250.00, improve the national economy and reduce the price of fuel, among others.

Ms Chisenga, the youngest lawmaker has shown character by confronting President Hichilema and called the latter a liar.

As if this was not enough, Ms Chisenga told President Hichilema to desist from cheating. She felt that it is too much for the head of State to continue lying.

If the confrontation of President Hichilema over lies is not an embarrassment, what is it? This is a shame and it sends a strong message to the head of State that things are not okay in the country. President Hichilema should reflect on the confrontation and start telling the truth.

Ms Chisenga left Parliament shortly after she confronted President Hichilema

over lies to avoid being harassed.

In a nutshell, Ms Chisenga is right. People should not attack her for being truthful. She called a spade a spade.

There is nothing sinister about Ms Chisenga confronting President Hichilema and calling him a liar. The Mambilima lawmaker just said the truth. Moreover, the truth pains. ELEMIYA PHIRI, Lusaka.
