Kalaba congratula­tes Senegalese President elect Faye

CITIZENS First president Harry Kalaba has congratula­ted the Senegalese President elect Bassirou Diomaye Faye for the landslide victory.

Mr Kalaba said Mr Faye,44, ascension to the Presidency at the youthful age marks a significan­t milestone not only for him but also for Senegal and the entire African continent.

“Your election reflects a growing trend of vibrant and dynamic young leaders assuming the highest office in their respective countries. This trend is not only inspiring but also holds great promise for the future of Africa.

As young leaders like yourself step forward to lead their nations, we witness a shift towards more progressiv­e, innovative, and inclusive governance. Your leadership embodies the hopes and aspiration­s of the younger generation, offering a fresh perspectiv­e and renewed energy to address the challenges facing your nation,”Mr Kalaba said.

He further said Mr Faye’s victory underscore­s the importance of democracy and the electoral process in Senegal.

He commended the electoral body for their diligent efforts in ensuring a free, fair, and transparen­t election.

The opposition leader said, their commitment to upholding democratic principles is commendabl­e and serves as a shining example for other African nations.

“As you prepare to assume office, we have no doubt that your leadership will bring about positive change and prosperity for the people of Senegal. May your tenure be marked by peace, progress, and prosperity, and may you continue to inspire the youth of Africa to actively participat­e in shaping the future of their countries,”he said.
