ECL ALEBWELELAPO FEVER CAUSING ANGER IN UPND - ZUMANI

- By NATION REPORTER

THE Alelebwelelapo anthem that has finally hit every corner of the country has invoked the spirit of anger and bitterness in the UPND and its entire leadership, Chris Zumani Zimba has said.

Dr Zimba has alleged that in sensing the clear sign of losing to his main rival in 2026, the UPND and its leadership has officially introduced politics of imingalato meant to annihilate the opposition by creating factions in political parties which are threats to their hold on power.

Dr Zimba said the UPND was fully aware that President Hakainde Hichilema’s false political promises had been exposed and had fuelled a sense of visible betrayal among Zambians.

He said Mr Hichilema is mindful that his 2021 false promises, political lies and campaign deceptions had now been discovered and had invoked anger among Zambian voters.

“HH (President Hakainde Hichilema) is aware that voters now pray to punish and banish him on the ballot in 2026. And if former President Lungu is to contest, Bally (President Hichilema) is aware that he does not stand a chance to win in 2026. This is what makes the President hate the word ‘alebwelelapo,’ Dr Zimba said.

“The entire UPND camp is mindful that most people are merely waiting for 12th August, 2026 in order to vote out the lying UPND leadership. Most UPND folks have told the President that competing against ECL (former President Lungu) in 2026 means ‘Alebwelelapo’ for sure and President Hichilema will be a one-term president,”

Dr Zimba said former President Lungu was a trusted politician who generally delivered as most Zambians were happier under him than they were under the leadership of the UPND.

“This is what is invoking imingalato politics of heavy tribalism, regionalism, the Electoral Commission of Zambia partisan appointments, meddling in PF and opposition parties, the weaponisation of state institutions and all authoritarian tendencies in the UPND leadership,” Dr Zimba said.

He also said Mr Hichilema was fully aware that on the scale of political honesty and integrity in 2026, most Zambians would vote for former President Lungu and red card the head of State because his deceptions were unrepentant while his false promises just unforgivable by most voters.
