FAIRWORLD TOASTS INVESTMENT OF US$1B IN MOPANI
FAIRWORLD Properties Limited says the recent announcement by International Holdings Resources (IHR) to invest about US$1.1 billion into Mopani Copper Mines marks a significant milestone in the industry.
Fairworld Properties Ltd Chief Executive Officer Chisebwe Fumbeshi says his company has closely monitored the developments surrounding the new investment and ownership structure at Mopani Copper Mines on the Copperbelt.
"As an entity deeply ingrained in the fabric of Zambia’s property and extractive industries, we recognize the potential impact this investment has not only on the mining sector but also on the broader Zambian economy and, by extension, the real estate market. Such an investment not only revitalizes the mine’s operations but also heralds a new era of economic growth and stability, which we believe will have ripple effects on various sectors including the real estate market," said the Valuation Surveyor & Business Consultant.
"As property valuation and advisory experts, we understand the interconnectedness of industries and the impact of large-scale investments on property values, demand, and development opportunities. The expected increase in employment, coupled with advancements in local supply chains and industrialization on the Copperbelt, presents a unique opportunity for strategic property investment and development."
He congratulated Mopani Copper Mines, International Holdings Resources, and all stakeholders involved in this historic transaction.
"We look forward to engaging with the industry to explore synergies and contribute to the sustainable development of Zambia’s economy," he stated.
