UPND EYEING CHITAMBO SEAT

-

THE UPND in Chitambo are begging President Hakainde Hichilema to induce a by-election in Chitambo constituency to unseat the incumbent Patriotic Front Member of Parliament, Chanda Mutale.

According to voice notes in the UPND Chitambo constituency whatsapp group, the UPND officials were asking the UPND Secretary General Batuke Imenda to engage President Hichilema so that a by-election can be created because Mr Mutale was hindering development in the area.

They stated that, the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) has failed to work because the MP has been frustrating the process to show that the UPND and Mr Hichilema do not care about the people.

They called on the leadership in the UPND to make sure that Mr Mutale was kicked out before 2026 through a by-election.

“We can’t continue like this ba SG, this man is bad and corrupt, we can no longer stand him, he must be removed from his seat, his corruption is too much, the President must ensure by all means a by-election is induced in Chitambo,” they said.

They also accused him of buying off some UPND members so that they would choose a person who is user friendly to him to be appointed as new District Commissioner after the death of Mr Evans Chola.

They also alleged that most council workers in Chitambo were PF as a result they side with Mr. Mutale to make wrong decisions to sabotage the government efforts.

They also stated that the Council Secretary and the MP were working together to narrow the chances of UPND winning the 2026 general elections.
