WAKE UP, ASK US - ECL

-

Former President Lungu recalled that when he was President, he had talked about climate change and that somebody at the time had accused him of lacking vision but that the effects of climate change were now in the country.

“Talking of climate change, when I was President, I talked about climate change and somebody said it was a lack of vision. Today, I have been vindicated and the problem is here and has come.

We ruled this country for seven years. Do not feel shy to ask us about the affairs of this country and what we did to maintain and make it better and we shall tell you. Wake up!” former President Lungu said.

Former President Lungu said the church and politicians should emulate the hard work and humility of Reverend Steven Sata of Liberty Life Assembly in Lusaka who had predicted the dry spell through his book.

“Jesus Christ has risen, we should all rise (Ukani). We are just one family believing in Jesus Christ and the book we are launching today “Faith in changing climate,’’ The negative impact of environment degradation on Christian practices and beliefs testifies that Rev Sata has a vision, and he is awake,” the former head of State said.

Former President Lungu emphasised that people should not be afraid to ask their friends what they did to achieve better things instead of keeping quiet because those governing were doing it for the good of the country.

Former President Lungu also took time to hail Jean Chisenga, the Mambilima Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament for calling out President Hakainde Hichilema as a bakateka babufi (a lying President).

Fromer President Lungu was accompanied by United Kwacha Alliance (UKA) chairman Sakwiba Sikota SC, Brian Mundubile, the Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Stephen Kapyongo, the Opposition Chief Whip, Raphael Nakacinda, the PF secretary general and many UKA and PF leaders.

And Mr. Sikota said just like Jesus Christ arose, as he was crucified because of the people’s sins, Christians should also arise.
