More stake holders weigh in on Debt restructur­ing

Kasempa Chamber of Commerce and industry president, Douglas Namukuka has praised President Hakahinde Hichilema and his administra­tion for securing a debt restructur­ing deal with bond holders.

Mr Namukuka says the business community expects the dollar to also appreciate to create an enabling environmen­t for trading both locally and abroad.

Mr Namukuka says the agreement by bond holders and government on debt restructur­ing is a milestone achievemen­t that would alleviate financial strain as more resources will now be channeled to the needy areas.

He says the debt restructur­ing across various sectors stands to benefit from enhanced access to financing and increased consumer spending, fostering a climate conducive to business expansion and innovation.

In a statement to ZANIS News today, Mr Namukuka said the successful debt restructur­ing not only demonstrat­es the government’s commitment to fiscal responsibi­lity but also paves the way for a more conducive business environmen­t.

“This is a milestone, debt restructur­ing demonstrat­es the government’s efforts but also paves the way for the business environmen­t, therefore we should work hand and hand to Foster developmen­t in Kasempa district and the country at large,” Mr Namukuka said.

He has urged citizens to work hand in hand with the government in fostering developmen­t.

Mr. Namukuka says people expect a lot of developmen­t from the government following the successful debt restructur­ing programme.

“As people we are expecting a lot of developmen­t from the government following the debt restructur­ing, especially a reduction on cost of living in our country, this will enable the business environmen­t to work on changing the face of the country,” He added.

And Kasempa town council chairperso­n Brain Kakonkanya said it marks a significan­t milestone in Zambia’s journey towards economic stability and developmen­t.

“We thank President Hichilema and the administra­tion for a milestone on debt restructur­ing, this will drive Zambia towards economic developmen­t and stability, this will alleviate cost of living in our country,” He said.

Mr. Kakonkanya says Kasempa district will benefit from the deal and this will foster developmen­t and reduce cost of living in Kasempa district and country at large.
