GOVT DEMANDS FOR INCLUSIVE, EQUITABLE EDUCATIONA­L LANDSCAPE

GOVERNMENT has urged the stakeholde­rs in the education sector to create a more inclusive and equitable educationa­l landscape that empowers every learner to thrive.

Ministry of Education Assistant Director Specialise­d Services Mwenya Mwamba said, this can be achieved the stakeholde­rs work hand in hand with the government.

Speaking during the inclusion conference at Baobab College school yesterday, Dr Mwamba said stakeholde­rs need have a common goal to create a conducive environmen­t for learners.

“As we convene to discuss and advance the principles of inclusive education, let us seize this opportunit­y to learn, collaborat­e, and inspire one another.

together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable educationa­l landscape that empowers every learner to thrive,”Dr Mwamba said.

He further said the hosting and presence of Baobab college school at this year’s conference are a testament to its forward-thinking approach and its status as an outstandin­g internatio­nal school that understand­s the key role of inclusion in education.

Meanwhile, Chairperso­n of the Internatio­nal Forums of Inclusion Practition­ers (IFIP) Daniel Sobel said, his organisati­on is pushing to achieve the Sustainabl­e Developmen­t Goals under the United Nations to enhance inclusive education and make it a reality.

Mr Sobel said this can be done through best practice.

And Baobab acting Principal Jon Turner said it is a rare opportunit­y for the school to have global experts to learn from and discuss the importance of inclusion in profession­al practice.
