Poverty levels worsening,says PF

- By ROGERS KALERO

IT is not only embarrassing, but also ridiculous for the Hakainde Hichilema-led UPND government and its allies to continue bragging that it has been the best performing government when hunger is worsening,'' Munalula Moola has said.

Mr Moola.the Patriotic Front (PF) Copperbelt Spokesperson said people are able to see that things are not well in the country.

In an interview in Kitwe yesterday, Mr Moola said the shameless conduct of the UPND government and its allies of singing its own praises when poverty was ravaging homes of the majority Zambians was much to be desired.

"Honestly, how on Earth can a government be singing its own praises and claiming to be the best performing government when poverty and hunger has continued to worsen? What criteria are they using to rate themselves the best performing government,'' Mr Moola said.

Mr Moola said people were now comparing the PF and UPND leadership style because they are tired with what is transpiring.

"This UPND, I don't know how it thinks. It has misplaced priorities because it was concentrating on sustaining its stay in power by abusing the police, the judiciary and the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ). They want to sustain their stay in power by silencing the opposition through arrests and other things instead of looking at the plight of Zambians,'' he said.

Mr Moola advised the UPND to concentrate on delivering on its campaign promises and let Zambians make their own judgement whether the ruling party deserves the second term or not.
