MILUPI COMMISSIONS K6.9M CIVIC CENTRE IN MANYINGA
MINISTER of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Charles Milupi says the government remains committed to enhancing service delivery to the people through infrastructure development.
Mr Milupi said the government will ensure no community is left behind in its quest of delivering infrastructure development to all parts of the country.
Mr Milupi said this when he commissioned the K6.9 million newly constructed civic centre and two high cost houses in Manynga District on Sunday.
He said the newly constructed civic centre will not only provide a conducive working environment for the Council workers but also significantly enhance their efficiency leading to improved service delivery.
"The construction of this infrastructure underscores the profound respect the government has for public workers, they are the backbone of the community we save," he said.
Mr Milupi said with these improved facilities the council will be empowered to offer quality services to the people of Manyinga and further enhance the lives of constituents.
"The government's vision for Manyinga extends further than this impressive office block, we have plans to further infrastructure development including the construction of a single storey-administration block, a post office ,10 medium cost houses and a police station among others," he said.
Mr Milupi has since commended Toshiber General Contractors Limited for its unwavering dedication to completing the project despite challenges saying they have set a standard for professionalism and reliability.
He said the construction of the facility is the beginning of the government's journey towards decentralisation and bringing essential services closer to the people.
Provincial Minister who is also area Member of Parliament Robert Lihefu said the people are eager to see modern infrastructure in the province saying the new facility is indeed a great milestone in the developmental agenda and fulfilling the desires of the people of Manyinga.
Mr Lihefu said the council officers will now have a highly motivated attitude as a result of a decent working environment.
"As people of Manyinga and North-Western Province, we appreciate the works of the government and we promise to take care of the infrastructure," he said.
Manyinga Town Council chairperson Henry Sakuwaha said the successful completion of the civic centre has been made possible with the United Party for National Development (UPND) government's commitment to delivering meaningful development to all rural parts of the country.
