Fur­ther to this there are also a num­ber of Chi­nese malls along the Ka­fue Road, such as Fly Huang and China Mall. A num­ber of suc­cess­ful re­tail ware­houses are sit­u­ated in the area, ten­anted by the likes of Jumbo, Builders Ware­house and Orca.

The Cairo Road area is a lower-end re­tail­ing des­ti­na­tion with a larger pres­ence of lo­cal re­tail­ers in shop­ping malls such as: South­gate Shop­ping Cen­tre, Down­town Shop­ping Com­plex, Cairo Mall and So­ci­ety Busi­ness Park. Levy Mall, is NAPSAs 27,000m2 re­tail scheme, sit­u­ated be­hind Cairo Road. Carousel Shop­ping Cen­tre is also lo­cated in prox­im­ity, fur­ther down the Ka­fue Road.

In ad­di­tion to the above, there are a large num­ber of in­di­vid­ual re­tail shops in the area, as well as many in­for­mal re­tail­ers, cre­at­ing a lower-end high street along Cairo Road and sur­round­ing ar­eas.

Roma is dra­mat­i­cally un­der-sup­plied with for­mal re­tail­ing, with ex­cep­tion to the of­fer­ing at Fox­dale Court (2,600m2). This may be as a re­sult of the cur­rent catch­ment be­ing served by the ex­ten­sive op­tions close to the Great East Road node.

The air­port junc­tion, in close prox­im­ity to Ken­neth Kaunda In­ter­na­tional Air­port, has in the last few years be­come a for­mal re­tail hub, with the open­ing of Wa­ter­falls Mall (7,000m2) and Gar­den City Mall (8,000m2). Upon the open­ing of the Air­port’s new ter­mi­nal, a fur­ther shop­ping mall is to be de­vel­oped there.

Twin Palms Mall (7,500m2) in Ibex Hill is an­chored by a Sho­prite.

Fur­ther to the above there are a num­ber of other re­tail malls scat­tered across Lusaka, in­clud­ing No­vare Great North, PHI Mall, Matero Mall, Spar Mall (Mumbwa Road), and Tafika in Kanyama. In Long Acres, the Pub­lic Service Pen­sions Fund (PSPF) is devel­op­ing the Long Acres Mall, which will de­liver a fur­ther 14,000m2 and is due to open in April 2019.
