A TOTAL of 30 beauties will battle it out on the catwalk this Saturday as they vie for the inaugural Miss Bulawayo-Harare contest at the Private Lounge in Bulawayo.

Show organiser, Wilbert Rukato, said the girls would check in for boot camp in Bulawayo tomorrow.

“Upon arriving in Bulawayo, the models will pay a courtesy call on the mayor Councillor Martin Moyo, tour Matopos Park and have grooming sessions among many other activities,” Rukato said.

The models (15 from Bulawayo and 15 from Harare) will win various cash prizes that will be revealed later this week. Entrance to the show has been pegged at $5.

Rukato said those who want to be part of the contest are welcome as there are still slots.

“Those who want to audition can go to Cecil Hotel in Bulawayo where our casting team including Miss Zambia-Zimbabwe — Charity Chauruka is already on standby.

“We hope with this pageant, we can bring together people from Bulawayo and Harare. The idea is for models in Bulawayo to meet their Harare counterparts,” said Rukato.

Bulawayo and Harare seem to be promoting each other as last week, Devine Entertainment hosted a Bulawayo meets Harare musical show to promote Bulawayo artistes and now, the pageant is being held to promote models.
