- Whinsley Masara

WAR veterans in Bulawayo will on Saturday hold a meeting to give feedback on what transpired in Harare last week at the solidarity meeting with their patron President Mugabe.

The meeting will be held at Davies Hall at 10AM.

War veterans’ Council of Elders member Cde George Mlala said all ex-combatants are required to attend.

Acting national chairperson of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA), Cde Mandi Chimene, will be present at the meeting.

Cde Mlala said: “The meeting will focus on a number of issues including the current situation within the association.

‘‘Current developments within the interim committee will be discussed and updates on what has transpired will be given.

“We will also look into the programme for the elections that are ahead of us as per the President’s advice.

‘‘The national chairperson is coming down here to lead us on those issues.”

He said well disciplined members are expected to attend the meeting.

“Last week, the President, in his capacity as ZNLWVA patron, addressed freedom fighters. For those who were unable to attend, this meeting is also intended to give a briefing on what transpired in Harare last week.

“We’re going to be reporting back on some of the resolutions that were made in that meeting,” Cde Mlala said. — @ winnie_masara.
