YIZO Yizo’s Gunman (real name Christopher Kubheka) who was in Plumtree at the weekend to interact with fans at 4Js Sports Bar, says he has ventured into music.

The multi-skilled artist who among other activities, toured the border town, revealed plans to launch his debut album soon adding that he was also into video directing.

“I’m taking my career to a new level. Although I’m still an actor, I’m in the process of launching my first album. I’m also directing videos with Kalawa as I want my work to cut across the entire entertainment industry,” said Gunman.

Apart from his acting and music career, Gunman wants to leave a mark in the entertainment industry by mentoring up-and-coming actors and singers in Zimbabwe and South Africa. He hopes to start doing so in Zimbabwe next month. One of Gunman’s hosts, Handsome Sibanda, said KasiToundtainment, a Plumtree-based events company, was in the process of reviving the entertainment industry in the border town. He said more similar visits had been arranged for the summer season. South Africa-based entertainment company, Leciatainment, who were also responsible for Gunman’s visit, said they would engage more South African artistes to visit Zimbabwe and exchange notes with locals. Tebogo Maganye, the company’s director, said: “As Leciatainment, we market a number of well-established artists, Gunman included. This is the first visit that we’ve facilitated. “In this new business initiative, we hope to exchange business with Zimbabwean promoters as well as hold events in Zimbabwe and have Zimbabwean promoters holding events in our country. “We also hope that Zimbabwean and South African musicians will forge collaborations,” Maganye said. — @DubeMatutu
