Body builders vie for Mr, Ms Bulawayo competitio­n

AT least 18 local body builders are expected to compete in the 2016 edition of Mr and Ms Bulawayo body building contest which will be held on August 20 at a local movie cinema.

The competitio­n will see body builders contesting in four categories namely juniors under 21, seniors, ladies fitness figure and men’s fitness physic.

Lovemore Munyamana, the winner of last year’s contest as well as Shantel Batch Greenland, the defending champion in the women’s category, are expected to defend their titles.

Bulawayo Metropolit­an Body Building and Fitness Associatio­n Secretary (BMBFA), Marko Mwale said that people should expect one of the toughest competitio­ns in the city.

“Body building fans should expect fireworks in this year’s edition of the Mr and Ms Bulawayo. All athletes are raring to go. I have been visiting some of the athletes at their respective gyms and the mood is high.

“I spoke to Shantel and Lovemore and they both assured me that they are ready for the competitio­n. I am just so glad all competitor­s have been preparing so hard for the contest,” said Mwale.

The winners of the local event will qualify to compete for Mr and Ms Iron Man Zimbabwe which is set for Harare on the 27 August.

The Mr and Ms Bulawayo, sponsored by Clarion Insurance, Sports Zone, Body works Gym.

Entry into the venue is pegged at $3.
