Mat South PA resigns
MATABELELAND South Acting Provincial Administrator, Mr Peter Moyo has relinquished his post to take up the position of chief executive officer for Beitbridge Rural District Council.
He replaces the RDC’s former CEO, Mr Albert Mbedzi who retired recently.
Mr Moyo announced the new development on Thursday at the Africa Prisons and Correctional Services Day commemorations in Gwanda.
He was standing in for the guest of honour, Minister of Rural Development, Promotion and Preservation National Cultural and Heritage, Cde Abedinico Ncube.
Mr Moyo said he had ceased to officially perform the duties of the Acting PA for the province at the function.
“I want to take this opportunity to bid you farewell the people of Gwanda. I’m leaving tomorrow for Beitbridge where I’m going to take up a new position. It has been good working with wonderful people like you. We worked very well together. I’m leaving this office today to start there tomorrow,” said Mr Moyo.
Gwanda mayor, Councillor Knowledge Ndlovu, in his vote of thanks at the function, said he was saddened by Mr Moyo’s departure.
He said things had started to move well under the Acting PA’s stewardship.
“We are thankful for the job you did for us. It’s very difficult and sad that when things are starting to go smoothly after we had found someone who works diligently, the time comes for him to go. We wish you the best,” said Clr Ndlovu
Mr Moyo replaced Mr Midard Khumalo who was forced to resign in April by the Civil Service Commission four months into his contract that had been extended by a year.
Before then Mr Moyo was the District Administrator for Umzingwane — @richardmuponde.
