EWhat is the EMAL Open Day? MAL is an acronym for the Environmental Management Agency Laboratory. EMAL cordially invites all stakeholders to an Open Day, which will be held today at EMA KGVI Offices starting from 0900 hours to 1600 hours. Participants will not be kept for the whole day, however, they will have a 45 minute slot, packed with informative activities ranging from presentations on the EMAL services as well as a tour of the Laboratory facilities.

Where is the EMAL located? The EMAL is located at No. 6 off Pauling Drive, King George VI (KG VI), off Borrowdale Road in Harare.

What are the sampling procedures? For the best accuracy and precision in the results from EMAL, the correct sampling procedures need to be followed.

Failure to follow the procedure may result in inaccurate results hence defeating the whole purpose of testing water or soil. More details on the sampling procedure will be available at the open day. How do I label my sample? Label the sample bottle with the following information: Name and address of the client. Date and time of sampling. Reason for wanting the test done. How can I send my samples to the

laboratory? The client may bring the samples to the laboratory in person or use courier service. The sample must be secure to avoid breakage and spillage during transit.

The laboratory can also provide an additional service of sampling and then transport the samples to the laboratory. A fee is charged and is available upon request. For more information on the EMAL you can use the following contact details; 04 793915, 252087, 792772 or emalab@ ema.co.zw.
