EMAL holds open day

EWhat is the EMAL Open Day? MAL is an acro­nym for the En­vi­ron­men­tal Man­age­ment Agency Lab­o­ra­tory. EMAL cor­dially in­vites all stake­hold­ers to an Open Day, which will be held today at EMA KGVI Of­fices start­ing from 0900 hours to 1600 hours. Par­tic­i­pants will not be kept for the whole day, how­ever, they will have a 45 minute slot, packed with in­for­ma­tive ac­tiv­i­ties rang­ing from pre­sen­ta­tions on the EMAL ser­vices as well as a tour of the Lab­o­ra­tory fa­cil­i­ties.

Where is the EMAL lo­cated? The EMAL is lo­cated at No. 6 off Paul­ing Drive, King Ge­orge VI (KG VI), off Bor­row­dale Road in Harare.

What are the sam­pling pro­ce­dures? For the best ac­cu­racy and pre­ci­sion in the re­sults from EMAL, the cor­rect sam­pling pro­ce­dures need to be fol­lowed.

Fail­ure to fol­low the pro­ce­dure may re­sult in in­ac­cu­rate re­sults hence de­feat­ing the whole pur­pose of test­ing wa­ter or soil. More de­tails on the sam­pling pro­ce­dure will be avail­able at the open day. How do I la­bel my sam­ple? La­bel the sam­ple bot­tle with the fol­low­ing in­for­ma­tion: Name and ad­dress of the client. Date and time of sam­pling. Rea­son for want­ing the test done. How can I send my sam­ples to the

lab­o­ra­tory? The client may bring the sam­ples to the lab­o­ra­tory in per­son or use courier ser­vice. The sam­ple must be se­cure to avoid break­age and spillage dur­ing tran­sit.

The lab­o­ra­tory can also pro­vide an ad­di­tional ser­vice of sam­pling and then trans­port the sam­ples to the lab­o­ra­tory. A fee is charged and is avail­able upon re­quest.
