Masvingo opportunity for Zanu-PF to rejuvenate
EDITOR — The “resolution” by Mashonaland Central acting provincial chairman Cde Mafios is a sign that the party’s Chitepo ideological school is overdue.
This should help in ensuring that there is no discord in the implementation of party ideas and in maintaining the revolutionary party as a unit.
Also, members need to be reoriented on the communication hierarchy in the party as we have seen some using unorthodox means to voice concerns, including social media.
This is in direct defiance of the directive by the President who warned members to desist from abusing social media platforms and the private press whenever they have something to say.
Also, we have seen party members criticising each other on public platforms giving naysayers false hope that the revolutionary party is falling apart. I am sure the Masvingo conference will sort out all the fissures. That said, the one centre of power principle does not need any alteration and Cde Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana explained in an interview recently why we do not need to change it because it is a system that leaves no room for factionalism.
My humble submission is that people should stop making public statements before the conference. It is not healthy for the party. Masvingo is just a few weeks away. Cde Marufu, Harare
