Regulate social media usage
EDITOR — The Government should regulate social media usage because there is an increase in internet abuse.
I agree with Minister Nomthandazo Eunice Moyo that disciplinary action be instituted against youth leaders accused of insulting President Mugabe through social media platforms.
They should be punished to send a clear message that we will not tolerate people who seek glory through insulting our leaders.
People feel because of anonymity there is a lack of consequences.
Just like a fingerprint, the internet is 100 percent traceable if the offence is deemed important by the authorities.
People should not get carried away following in the footsteps of sponsored and treasonous “opinion leaders” singing for donor funding.
They thrive on the attention they get. So they keep continuing with their mischief.
They usually gang up to insult anyone who says anything good about the President.
We need to show these Westernised fools that we are not afraid of their intimidation.
There is a thin line between exercising your right to free speech and breaking the law.
Online communication can be put to good use, either researching or following other productive ends. Tazviona Mutapati, Gweru.
