Football operates differently Prophet Magaya

-

EDITOR – While Walter Magaya is a brilliant prophet according to some, he should understand that sport works on different terms.

He should respect professionals employed to execute certain duties in his soccer team, Yadah. It is not wise for him to be interfering with the team, especially on the technical side.

If he wants to be a coach, he should sign up for coaching clinics and obtain a licence.

As things stand, he should apologise to his coaching staff and let them continue with their project.

Yadah was playing good football, but his meddling will derail the whole process.

Players should preserve their integrity and refuse to play until their abilities are not placed under questions based on some supernatural disposition.

It is tough being Yadah’s coach right now because when applying tactics, a heavenly instruction might just come and failure to adhere may lead to what Jairos Tapera is enduring.

It brings into question the level at which club owners should interfere with how the team is set and plays.

Roman Abrahimovic tried it with Chelsea interfering with how the team is set, an example of which is when he brought Andriy Shevchenko who was not effective to the team. I read

Magaya’s version of events saying that his team was under something mere mortals can’t understand.

Truth is, the players didn’t want to play for him under conditions that reverse the sporting objective.

Bring back Jairos Tapera and see the Yadah team retaining their stubborn flare.

I hope the 7-2 score line at the hands of Bantu Rovers was warning enough that soccer is not child’s play. Norman Ganda, Warren Park.
