Our anchor in the storm

-

Hebrews 6 vs 19

“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast.”

When one is confronted by danger and uncertainty the norm is to buckle and break. The pressure associated with the impending storm can be so strong that if one is not properly anchored, it will sweep you away.

Everyday we are faced by things that leave us wondering whether we will survive. All too often, we are pleasantly surprised when we wake up the next day, and the next. The storm may have subsided or the threat reduced but what matters is that we will still be alive.

In the midst of the storms of life, we forget that we have a solid anchor that holds us and that will keep us safe regardless of the winds that rage.

The Lord has promised that He will protect us, He has not said that we will not suffer but He has promised that He will protect us through everything.

That’s an amazing statement that means that “though you will tarry, I will ensure that you remain standing” Fear sometimes drives us to believe that when we are in trouble we have nowhere to turn to and that the only outcome that will emerge from the bad situation at hand is calamity beyond redemption.

The truth, though, is that through the Lord’s protection, He will ensure that a positive outcome will emerge out of any storms that we may encounter.

Are you scared today, are you doubting whether your anchor will hold through the storm? Be assured that He will protect you and take you to the next point. Trust in His ability to provide a could of cover that will see you through the present storm.

Be blessed.
