RESPONSE to: “Council avails 5k housing stands.” Bulawayo City Council does it again! Doling out 5 000 housing stands without any mention of any new water supplies or other services being initiated. The City Fathers or more appropriately “Destroyers” have failed dismally over numerous years with the basic supply of water to existing properties. Remember! The 2016/2017 rains were exceptional. — Sesi Omile, Emganwini, Bulawayo

RESPONSES to “Chitembwe blasts his men”. A poor leader blames his followers in public and tries to portray himself as infallible. — Muzadzi Moyo

RESPONSE to “Command Livestock to boost land utilisation”. It is good some money has been allocated for the livestock industry. With the lesson from Command Agriculture as regard the value chain and the role of the GMB, the new programme should see it that the resources are first released to the CSC to ensure adequate capitalisation, payment of all debts and full stocking of its ranches with the right pedigree of beasts. It must also have adequate funds for its contract livestock rearing programmes. Then the project can extended to the three provinces of Matabeleland North and South and Masvingo, which are traditionally beef producing provinces before being rolled country wide. There is need to proceed cautiously experimenting first, rather than plunging head long, in the programme. — Chirorodziva

RESPONSE to “Zhuwao in policy shocker”. Command Agriculture is a successful programme even after opposition said black owned farms will not yield anything. What has Zhuwao done himself that we can applaud? He does not have the monopoly of knowledge and ideas. Command Agriculture is a good idea, period. — Tendi Dongo
