Let’s unite to save cancer victims

-

EDITOR — The assistance that our Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa gave eight-year-old Bridgette Mandimutsira who is suffering from a rare skin cancer is worth mentioning and is greatly appreciated.

A lot of lives are being lost at a very tender age because of cancer.

It is sad that in this case it’s an eight-year-old who has become a victim and there is a need for urgent action to save this young life.

Cancer can be cured if it is treated while it is still in its early stage so there is hope for this little girl.

We cannot allow Bridgette’s joy of childhood to be stolen from her by this disease.

She is still too young and she deserves to enjoy her childhood.

I am appealing to fellow Zimbabweans on behalf of Ms Benedict Makumbe, who is a mother to this little girl, that we help with whatever amount we can to raise $30 000 that is needed for Bridgette to travel to the United Kingdom for her treatment.

We also need to make observations on our skins so that we contact our doctors earlier for any skin changes and detect cancer before it’s too late.

Of late, people are more scared of cancer than they are of the HIV virus. We need to unite and help save lives that are being threatened by cancer.

It is possible, all that has to be done is self-checking and being aware of the changes in our bodies. We need to frequently consult our doctors. Tinashe Hurudza
