RESPONSE to “Govt, Sakunda work on $68 m irrigation project”: The Government-Sakunda $68 million initiative is of course one such timely partnershi­p and collective engagement destined to increase agricultur­al productivi­ty in the country. Besides opening avenues for the future agreements between Government and the private sector the initiative will help close down the gap in agricultur­al funding. It sounds more appropriat­e and convenient if the local companies like Sakunda continue to throw their weight in partnering with Government as a way of boosting agricultur­al productivi­ty. — Felex Zonke Lloyd Chitembwe RESPONSE to “Hodges backs Chitembwe”: — Recently domestic premier soccer league was rocked by the uncertaint­y surroundin­g the future of Caps United FC coach Lloyd Chitembwe after a series of uneven performanc­es by the Green Machine. Receiving the backing of respectabl­e personalit­ies like Andy Hodges should provide Chitembwe the much needed self confidence and belief that he can turn around the fortunes of the Green Machine. One thing is that Chitembwe is a good coach despite consistent bad results. — FZ
