Be a blessing to others

-

Matthew 5 vs 16

“LET your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

I arrived at the airport early in the morning the other day, and as I approached the immigration counter I expected to meet a very sullen officer, given the time of day.

To my surprise the man was very pleasant, he was quick to say “good morning”, which caught me unawares given my previous experience at the hands of his colleagues.

I noticed a book by a famous evangelical pastor which was on his work counter. I made a comment about the book and he then told me that the preacher was a great motivational speaker and he was inspired to also become a speaker one day.

He said, “Joy comes in the morning and this is the morning GOD has designed. It is my duty to speak happiness in your life to prepare you for the day ahead. I have been your first port of call today and through this encounter the rest of your day should follow suit. Have a lovely day.”

He then flashed his stamp which had something to the effect that he wished me a great day, written in ink. In those two minutes the man had ministered to me through his smile, words and actions.

What kind of vibes do people get from you every morning? Should we not be at the forefront of blessing others through our words and actions?

Let’s speak hope into the lives of others and may the encounters that we have with them be spirit filled and guided by GOD. Bless someone today.

Be blessed
