Zenzo donates football boots to inmate
FORMER Warriors and Highlanders striker Zenzo Moyo missed a penalty before donating a pair of football boots to a Khami Prison inmate during a match between Bulawayo Legends and Khami Prison Inmates at White City Stadium B Arena on Saturday.
The Legends were invited by the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services to play the inmates as part of the African Prisons and Correctional Services Day commemorations.
Before the well attended match kick-off, the Legends donated various foodstuffs to the inmates.
Moyo was part of a team coached by former Zimbabwe Saints striker Aubrey Sauramba and former Black Mambas team manager Fiso Siziba. The Bulawayo City vice-chairman donated his boots to Surprise Ndlovu who put up an impressive display for the inmates.
Also in the Legends team were Bulawayo City chairman, Jerry Sibanda, Johannes Ngodzo, Herbert Dick, Siza Khoza, Gift Lunga (Junior), Richard Choruma, Siza Dube and Dazzy Kapenya among others.
The Legends faced a very disciplined and talented team comprising prison inmates led by the impressive duo of the late Saints’ midfielder Butholezwe Mahachi’s younger brother, Keith and Makokoba bred-Ndlovu who managed to keep the Legends’ back four on their toes in a goalless first half.
The Legends eventually won the match 1-0 via a second half strike byy Slovakian Miroslav Nemec who coaches Zifa Southernuthern Region Division One side, Talen Vision.
The celebrations were graced by the Ministerster of State for Provincialal Affairs in Bulawayo Metropolitanetropolitan Province, Nomthandazomthandazo Eunice Moyo andnd ZPCS officer commandingng Bulawayo Metropolitan Provinceovince Senior Assistant Commissionerssioner Mailosi Jomane and actingcting Officer Commanding Matabeleland South Assistant Commissionerommissioner Shepard Mpofu.
