Giving God The Glory
Jeremiah 9 vs 23 - 24
Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising loving kindness, judgement, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.
A famous singer sang a song entitled, “I believe I can fly”, the song best summarises the feelings of most successful people. The world becomes their oyster and they begin to feel that nothing is insurmountable, rightfully so. Unfortunately we sometimes fail to acknowledge the source of the power, so many people mistakenly attribute the good things that happen to them to their own capabilities.
Before long this misguided ability swells one’s head and ego to a point where even the acknowledgement of GOD becomes something we frown on, yet all blessings and mercy come from Him who is the creator. Individual success, though good, must always be counter balanced by a certain measure of reverence.
Many are lost to the things of the world all because they miss a sense of where they are and how they got there. Success, in any form, is a self-propelling drug that often takes many to dizzy heights, and they forget that in the very same breath one can come crashing down.
The LORD is the source of all life; He inspires, encourages, helps to build, delivers to growth and above all, moulds you in ways that ultimately give Him reverence. Our lives are a living testimony of His goodness.
No matter how good things get, let us not forget to give Him glory, to depend on Him and to acknowledge that He is sovereign. We must give Him His rightful place and realize that although we may have success today, our continued ability to surge and progress is entirely dependent on Him and His benevolence.
Let us give GOD all the glory.
Be blessed
