The God of restoration

-

2 Corinthians 5 vs 18

“Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.”

Relationships that go astray can cause so much needless pain. A friend of mine sat down with me and shared a harrowing tale of a friendship that has gone bad, and has descended from bringing joy to only causing untold pain and misery. The question to be asked is, how do things get to a point where nastiness is the currency being exchanged? We will never really know what turns the hearts of people from warmth to hard stone.

The devil has a tendency to come between people to a point where even your ability to worship and seek the LORD is compromised because of the spirit of anger and bitterness that takes over. So many broken relationships leave a trail of destruction that usually takes more than a generation or two for faith and hope to be restored. What does one do when the devil takes centre stage in how one relates with others?

At times it is so difficult to believe that the LORD can turn situations around, but the reality is that sometimes the timetable we use for reconciliation is based on our human clock instead of GOD’s appointed time.

Whatever pain you are enduring, you are enduring it because the LORD said He will not give you more than you can deal with. Though it may appear as if the only solution is for the ground you stand on to open up and swallow you, be strengthened by the fact that the LORD has the ability to restore, renew and reconcile, if His will prevails.

As you wallow in pain and doubt be assured that He can restore those broken bridges and better still, He can take you to a higher ground that holds a greater gifting than you have today. Let Him mould you to be the person He desires.

May the Lord bring restoration where it seems impossible and may He bring healing and give new direction.

Be blessed
