A life of sacrifice

-

Hebrews 13 vs 16

“But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”

I listened to a speaker give a talk about sacrifices, the ability to give everything we have for the betterment of others in pursuit of God’s will for our lives. When we pray we are always mistaken in our belief that our role is to just ask of the Lord, yet sometimes the Lord asks of us and when He does many fall short at fulfilling His requests.

People approach us with all manner of requests, some at the point of desperation, but we find it difficult to help or hear them. Yet when we cry out ourselves we expect Him that sits on high to open His ears and unfold His arms for us.

What will we sacrifice to aid in doing the work of God? The Lord asks that we wholeheartedly make perfect and acceptable sacrifices that are pleasing to Him. Abel provided a sacrifice that was pleasing hence it was accepted, Cain’s sacrifice was not pleasing so it was not consumed by fire.

The Lord provided the perfect sacrifice in the form of His son, He left no stone unturned to give us the gift of life. What will you give the Lord today, will you be unselfish and give of your heart in order to give Him glory and do what is right?

Ask not what the Father can do but rather what you can for the Father and as you do allow Him to open the doors of mercy based on your desire to serve Him without reservation. As you do you will begin to experience His unbridled majesty because you are willing to give Him your all, as He has done for you.

Be blessed
