God Blesses Hard Work

Psalms 128 vs 2 “You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.”

THE business of eking out a living is probably one of the most difficult challenges we all face on a day to day basis. Most people give up at the point of difficulty and they give up on the prospect of life and the rewards that come from working hard. The Lord intended for all of us to work, to use our hands and minds to do great things.

Very often the prospect of closed doors or endless encounters with challenges takes away our zeal to try. I watched an amazing video clip about artisanal miners who would squeeze into the cleft of rocks to access old mines that had been condemned and closed. After getting inside these rickety mines they would stay there for periods of up to two weeks, scouring the old mine for any gold that may have been left behind.

The prospect of death was forever imminent as the mine shaft was held up by old wooden planks, some of which were much older than the eye could tell. For two weeks these men would work day and night to extract enough gold dust to be able to live on.

Such is the journey of life that each one of us is called to do so much just to be able to live. Many fail at the first hurdle because they feel that the difficulty and the closed doors constitute a curse or unprecedented bad luck, yet in essence we were all told we would have to sweat by the brow in order for this earth to be able to feed us.

Though you may experience challenges, be assured that the blessings of the LORD remain open for those who seek them. Regardless of the challenges and the effort required He will ensure that we are able to succeed and survive.

Hold Him to His word, continue trying again and again without ceasing and through the manifestation of His blessings, you will succeed. Like the men scrounging for gold, strive to do your best to continue to fight for life. Effort makes His blessings perfect and brings abundance. Don’t give up.
