Diasporans rebrand, re-open Hustler’s Night Club

- Showbiz Correspondent

NEARLY two years after it closed down, the once popular nightspot Hustlers Nite Club in Bulawayo re-emerges as Club 09 set to be opened to the public this Friday.

Club 09 is situated at the Monte Carlo Centre along Fife Street between 11th and 12th Avenue in Bulawayo.

The joint will be under new management, reportedly some Zimbabwean investors living in Namibia.

On Friday doors will open at 7PM with DJs Phat Joe, Keitho, Prince Eskhosini, Vusa and Lazy T getting back on the decks at the nightspot that carved their skills.

Club 09 entertainment manager Simon Gama said they had overhauled the inside of the nightspot, but kept vibe of Hustlers.

“On the entertainment side of the club, everything we did during the hustlers days will be brought back. The Road to Fame competition that was very popular will be back at Club 09 sometime in April. This competition groomed Sandra Ndebele, the late Beater Mangethe, Iyasa, Banyana Banyana and Centre Party among others. We are more inclined to promoting the arts and this is what we’ll continue doing going forward,” said Gama.

When the nightspot was shut down two years ago, there were arrears with the water and electricity bill that caused the utilities providers to cut supplies leading to the closing of the club.

However, Gama said all that has been sorted for the convenience of their patrons.

“The place has been renovated beautifully. We’ve sorted out the major problems from last time such as water and electricity, so everything is sorted,” said Gama.

“We mean business and we’re here to stay in the entertainment industry in the country.”
