Beauty for ashes

-

“THEN the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you and gather you again from all the nations where He scattered you.”

Have you ever built something and then watched it crumble down and fall apart? It could be a house, a business or a relationship, nothing is more painful than to watch a labour of love come to nothing. All of us have a story to tell with regards to something or the other that has gone in this direction.

At times when everything fails, it becomes very difficult to have any hope and to believe that something can ever come from the ashes of destruction. Sometimes we become very bitter with the LORD and for many, it takes a lifetime for them to regain the confidence to try again.

Many people are ruined for life and they live in the shadow of their past failures, haunted by memories of the past. They forget that the past is not an indication of the future. They are discouraged by the discontented voices of the multitudes which become all the more louder, publicly declaring that their efforts will never amount to anything.

These negative words become the new gospel and you begin to believe that they are prophetic and true. Yet the same GOD who can take away has a remarkable ability to rebuild, renew, restore, and resurrect. The LORD says, “I have this day set thee over the nations and over kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.”

Hold on to the promise that He can and He will rebuild. Play you part by being the vessel of His works. Trust and obey.

Be blessed
