BULAWAYO, Saturday, June 1, 1968 — It will be an outdoor, sports-filled Whitsun weekend with rail, road and air transport heavily booked and a special train running between Bulawayo and Salisbury.

Caravan parks, camping sites and accommodation centres at the National Park, Wankie, and other places of interest report heavy booking for the three days.

Heaviest traffic on all routes is expected between Bulawayo and Salisbury, where the big attraction is the British Lions rugby match against Rhodesia on Monday.

The flight from Salisbury to Bulawayo on Monday night has been delayed from 6.15 to 7.00PM to give rugby fans a chance to return to the city after the match.

Picnic spots in Matabeleland are expected to be crowded while various sports fixtures in the city will draw the crowds.

In Bulawayo, however, there has been no great rush for accommodation, though hotel managers report a steady flow of visitors.

Big local attractions are: The John Charles XI v Callies soccer match today; the Combined Charities fete at the showgrounds today; the Donkey derby on Monday; a treasure hunt organised by the McDonald’s club tomorrow; a vintage car rally, Matabeleland v Mashonaland at tennis tomorrow; and soccer matches on Sunday and Monday.

There will also be the Bulawayo 75 Stage cycling events throughout the weekend.
