SOUTH African rapper Okmalumkoolkat will treat Bulawayo’s music and beer lovers to his funky music when he makes his debut performance in the country alongside Afrosoul songstress, Berita Khumalo, at Hartsfield Tshisanyama.

The “Beer Marathon”, the first of its kind in the city, is being organised by KBM agency and will see Okmalumkoolkat perform on November 24.

Before the main event, there will be three warm-up shows with the first being held at Zarah Lounge on November 3 followed by Crystal Lounge on November 10. The last warm up show will be held at Cosmopolitan Club on November 17. Entertainment at these events will be provided by the club’s resident DJs.

One of the organisers of the show, Adrian Phiri, said a lot of drinking games would be held at the marathon which will comprise five teams made up of the city’s socialites. Some of the games will include beer tasting and a fast drinking contest.

“All music and beer lovers should come and enjoy the rap tunes from Okmalumkoolkat and various fun drinking games that will be taking place from the build-up to the event,” said Phiri.

He said Asaph would share the stage with Okmalumkoolkat and Berita at the main event that is expected to kick off at midday. Advance tickets are already available at Zarah Lounge with ordinary tickets going for $15/R200 for two and $25/R350 for single VIP tickets.
